MATERIALS & ATMOSPHERE
Textures that make a house feel like home.
A guide to combining wood, stone and textiles in a calm, balanced interior.

Choose a material to lead the composition
It might be the oak floor, a stone worktop or a plaster texture. Begin with a base and choose other materials in relation to it. Not every surface needs to attract attention at once.
Compare samples in your space's light
A shade changes between morning light and artificial lighting. Place samples together near the window and where they will be used. Screen photos cannot replace this check.
Balance hard and soft surfaces
Complement stone and wood with linen, wool or textured fabrics. Alternating matte, smooth and tactile surfaces adds depth without overcrowding the colour palette.
Consider maintenance when choosing
Ask the supplier about cleaning, durability and treatments. The right material should suit everyday life, not just the presentation image.
